Srinagar: Police in Anantnag have attached a single-storied residential house worth ₹70 lakhs belonging to a “notorious” drug peddler, Rafiq Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Rasool Sheikh, resident of Gopalpora Kalan, police spokesperson informed Friday.
He said the action was taken under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, as part of the ongoing anti-narcotics drive in the district.
The property attachment is linked to FIR No. 86/2023, registered under sections 8/20/29 of the NDPS Act, following investigations that established its use in drug trafficking activities. Further investigations are underway to trace other associates linked to the accused.
