Omar Abdullah-led govt will ensure inclusive, equitable development in J&K: Javed Rana

SRINAGAR: Minister of Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmad Rana today stated that Omar Abdullah-led government in committed to ensure inclusive and equitable development of all sections of society and regions in Jammu & Kashmir.

He said this while interacting with scores of delegations and individuals at Civil Secretariat here.

He asserted that steps will be taken to empower the marginalised and downtrodden sections of society to enable them to take benefits of various developmental and welfare schemes.

A delegation led by Choudhary Sirajdin from Kupwara demanded inclusion of Gojri Language in 8th schedule, implementation of Forest Right Act, FRC cases, concession in electricity bills, installation of water pipes in uncovered tribal villages and reservation in promotions.

A delegation led by Arshad Ahmed from Uri also presented their demands to improve the education scenario in tribal communities, EMRS in Uri, water connections to uncovered households, functioning of District Tribal offices.

Several other delegations and individuals from Pampore, Srinagar, Pahalgam and other areas also met the Minister.

The deputations and individuals brought several issues before the Minister concerning their respective areas and sought timely redressal of the same.

The Minister, while interacting with delegations and individuals assured them that all genuine issues put forth by them would be given due consideration for prompt redressal.
