Lecture on ‘Allama Iqbal’s Notion of Islamic Law in the 21st Century: An Evaluation’ delivered at Vitasta Law College

Srinagar: Vitasta Law College recently hosted a thought-provoking lecture titled “Iqbal’s Notion of Islamic Law in the 21st Century: An Evaluation.” Dr. Altaf Ahmad Ahanger, an esteemed scholar, was invited as the keynote speaker to share insights on this important and timely subject.

In his lecture, Dr. Altaf explored the profound impact of Allama Iqbal’s thoughts on Islamic jurisprudence and its implications for modern legal systems. He discussed how Iqbal’s vision for Islamic law aligns with contemporary societal challenges and the evolving nature of justice in the 21st century.

Emphasizing the need to revisit classical interpretations in light of present-day realities, Dr. Altaf highlighted Iqbal’s advocacy for intellectual reform within Islamic thought. 

The session attracted students, faculty members, and legal practitioners who engaged actively in discussions following the lecture. The Principal and Vice Principal of Vitasta Law College expressed gratitude to Dr. Altaf for shedding light on the significance of Iqbal’s philosophy, particularly how it can guide and inspire adaptations of Islamic law in today’s globalized context.

This lecture forms part of Vitasta Law College’s ongoing commitment to fostering a deeper understanding of Islamic jurisprudence and its relevance in contemporary legal studies.
