Baramulla: The two-day District Wushu Championship From 6 to 7th November concluded today at the Indoor Stadium Baramulla, bringing together a vibrant display of skill, discipline, and sportsmanship.

The event saw active participation from schools, clubs, and sports academies across the district, making it a resounding success.

In a fiercely contested championship, AHP Sopore secured the top honours, emerging as the overall champions. Shah-e-Hamdan Sports Academy Sopore claimed the second position, while KC Academy Baramulla finished third.

The championship was graced by the presence of Colonel Aakash Menon, Commanding Officer of the 22 Med Regiment, who served as the chief guest. Dr. Tariq Chalku Deen, a prominent academic from the Department of Physics at GDC Baramulla, was the guest of honor. Both dignitaries highlighted the significance of sports in fostering discipline and unity among the youth and commended the participants for their dedication and outstanding performances.

The championship featured thrilling matches, with young athletes showcasing their prowess and determination. Special recognition was given to coaches and trainers who played a pivotal role in preparing the athletes for this competitive event.

In her closing address, Tabasum Akhtar, General Secretary of the Wushu Association Baramula, extended her heartfelt gratitude to the chief guest, guest of honor, and all participants. She praised the collaborative efforts of the organizers, volunteers, and supporters who contributed to the event’s smooth execution.

The championship concluded with a vote of thanks, emphasizing the importance of continued support for local sports initiatives to nurture future champions.
