Srinagar: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, while paying tributes to former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee said that he was a visionary who provided us a road map but we failed to follow it.
Speaking on the obituary referenced, CM recalled Vajpayee’s Jamhooriyat, Insaniyat and Kashmiriyat saying he was the one who said that we can change our friends not neighbours and it was in his tenure that roads were opened fostering an environment of reconciliation.
“Today, it feels as though we are drifting apart. I firmly believe that if we had followed Vajpayee’s vision, Jammu and Kashmir would not be in the current situation,” he said.
