Anantnag: In a significant step towards providing healthcare for all, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Anantnag organized a medical camp for inmates at District Jail Anantnag.

The camp, held in collaboration with the Health Department, was overseen by Worthy Chairman Mr. Tahir Khurshid Raina, Principal District and Sessions Judge of Anantnag, and Secretary DLSA Muzamil Ahmad Wani. This initiative exemplifies DLSA Anantnag’s commitment to ensuring equitable healthcare access, extending vital medical services to incarcerated individuals.

The Health Department, with support from the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), deployed a team of specialized doctors to the camp. Specialists included Dr. Wani Zahid (Physician), Dr. Waseem (Dermatologist), Dr. Muzaffar (Gastroenterologist), Dr. Bilal Beigh (Dentist), Dr. Mushtaq (Medical Officer), Dr. Zuhee (Psychiatrist), and Dr. Mohd Amin (Medical Officer), along with technicians and pharmacists. Together, they provided comprehensive check-ups and addressed diverse health concerns among the inmates, ensuring that each individual received necessary medical attention and care.

Throughout the day, the inmates underwent full health assessments with each specialist, making the camp a valuable opportunity for those with existing and potential health issues to receive professional care. This initiative reinforced the DLSA’s dedication to supporting the well-being of all, regardless of circumstances.

DLSA Anantnag expressed sincere gratitude to the Chief Medical Officer, the dedicated medical team, and the jail authorities, whose cooperation and support were crucial to the camp’s success. The event, organized under the supervision of the LADC Anantnag office, marks a meaningful milestone in the provision of healthcare services within the justice system.
