Srinagar: Police in Shopian have arrested a person and seized illicit liquor from his possession.
A police party during a routine patrolling at Batapora Shopian, intercepted a suspicious person carrying a bag. Identified as Bhashkar Shagosh Chavhan, son of Shagosh Chavhan, resident of Ramaji Nagar Sonala Road, Borgaon District Akola Maharashtra, presently living as a tenant at Batpora Chowk Shopian, was arrested after 26 bottles of illicit liquor were found in the bag he was carrying, police said.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered for investigation.
