Accompanied by JKPCC Vice President Nissar Ahmad Mandoo, Mr. Karra expressed deep gratitude to voters and supporters while attentively listening to their aspirations, concerns, and the pressing needs of the community. The interaction centered on the restoration of full statehood for Jammu and Kashmir as the foundation for empowered governance and responsive administration.

In response to questions about the importance of full statehood, Karra underscored its urgency. “Statehood is not just a symbolic demand; it’s the foundation for responsive and empowered governance,” he emphasized. “Without full statehood, decision-making powers remain restricted, limiting our capacity to address pressing issues such as unemployment, development, business, education, and healthcare reforms.”

Karra elaborated on the key benefits of full statehood for the welfare and progress of Jammu and Kashmir, including: Strengthened Governance: Full statehood would enable the local government to make impactful and swift decisions that directly address citizens’ needs. Economic Development and Job Creation: Full statehood is vital for job creation and economic resilience. Restoring statehood will empower the local government to generate local employment in both government and public sectors, addressing youth unemployment and creating avenues for dignified jobs in established and emerging industries. Empowering Education and Health Sectors: Autonomy in decision-making would allow for focused development in education and healthcare—sectors crucial for long-term growth. Full statehood would facilitate the construction of modern infrastructure and reforms that prepare students for competitive exams and ensure accessible healthcare for all. Cultural and Regional Integrity: Statehood respects and honours the unique cultural heritage and traditions of Jammu and Kashmir, safeguarding local identity and supporting the growth and preservation of regional arts, crafts, and industries.

Accountability of Officers and Employees: Mr. Karra emphasized that restoring statehood would ensure direct accountability of government officers and employees in Jammu and Kashmir.

He stated, “Our Prime Minister, Home Minister, and the Central Government have made repeated promises regarding the restoration of statehood—on the floor of Parliament, in public rallies, and especially during election campaigns. It’s time to move beyond promises and fulfil these commitments through decisive action.”

As a representative of Jammu and Kashmir, Karra pledged to tirelessly pursue the goal of full statehood, emphasizing an inclusive approach to governance, employment generation, and community welfare. Residents lauded his commitment, appreciating his hands-on leadership and dedication to addressing their concerns. They welcomed his vision of a future where Jammu and Kashmir can fully realize its potential through responsible and empowered local governance.
