Satish Sharma lays foundation for blacktopping of Budhwal-Girgrial road

JAMMU: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, Youth Services & Sports, Satish Sharma, today conducted an extensive tour of Khour and laid the foundation stone for the blacktopping of Budhwal to Girgrial road to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 10 lakh.

People from various areas including Hanuman Chowk, Maira Jourian and Troti met the Minister apprising him of their issues and concerns. They sought the Minister’s intervention in the speedy redressal of their grievances pending for long.

The issues raised by the people inter alia included the construction of link roads, streamlining of electricity bills and ration card issuance, irregular power and water supply besides related matters concerning the welfare and development of their respective areas.

The Minister assured the deputations that the issues raised by them would be taken up with the concerned authorities and redressed within the shortest possible time.

While addressing the people, the Minister appreciated the public for their unwavering support saying that he will work with utmost zeal and vigour to bring enhanced development and prosperity in the region. “Equitable development and welfare of people is top priority of the present government adding that all public grievances and concerns would be addressed promptly,” he added.

Later, the Minister also held a meeting with the officers and officials of the line department and instructed them to work in synergy so that people don’t face any kind of inconvenience. He directed the officers to ensure the timely completion of all development works concerning their respective departments. He also cautioned them against any unnecessary delay in the execution of these vital works.

The Minister said that the recently formed government is committed to satiating the developmental aspirations of people while taking care that no one is deprived of his basic requirements and all are served equally. He emphasised that welfare and employment for the educated youth are one of the top priorities of the government.
