Jammu: Three persons riding a two-wheeler were killed in an accident at Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Nagrota area of Jammu district on Sunday.

Officials told GNS that a two-wheeler collided head on with an oil tanker near Nagrota. In this incident driver of the two wheeler as well as its two pillion mates died on spot.

Bodies were given to their families after medico-legal formalities, they said.

Meanwhile, case has been registered in this regard and investigation taken up.

Separately, three people were injured after their vehicle met an accident Sunday afternoon  at Mughal Maidaan in Kishtwar, reports said.

The injured were rushed to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Chhatroo for necessary medical treatment, they said.

Following the accident, Member Parliament and Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh expressed his concern. “I just spoke to DC Kishtwar Rajesh Kumar Shavan after learning about the road accident at Mugal Maidan. Three injured individuals have been shifted to SDH Chhatroo,” he said as per news agency KINS.

Minister said the administration is working on a “comprehensive road safety plan that incorporates the latest technologies.”

“This includes radar surveillance, 100% camera installation in commercial vehicles, regular fitness checks of vehicles, and the identification and rectification of black spots on roads. Additionally, we are focusing on the installation of crash barriers and road signals, as well as strict traffic regulations, including checks on overloading.”
