Pulwama: The Zia Foundation recently organized an educational event in Sangerwani, a remote area of Pulwama district, focused on raising awareness about the vital issues of education and child labour.
The event brought together community members, educators, and local leaders to highlight the importance of accessible education and the challenges associated with child labour, particularly in underserved areas.
The foundation’s chairman, Rakib Ahmad Zia, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the transformative power of education and the urgent need to eradicate child labour. “Child labour has devastating effects on children’s well-being and future opportunities,” Mr. Zia remarked. He underscored that quality education is a fundamental right, which must be accessible to every child, regardless of socio-economic background.
The event featured interactive sessions, discussions, and educational materials on the legal frameworks against child labour and the far-reaching benefits of schooling. Zia reiterated the foundation’s commitment to promoting educational equity and increasing awareness in remote areas like Sangerwani, where access to such resources is often limited.
Also in attendance were prominent dignitaries including SHO Rajpora, ZEO Nisar Ahmad, Abdul Salam, and advocates Aslam, Safeer, and Anwar. Their presence reinforced community-wide support for the foundation’s mission to empower marginalized communities and address pressing social challenges.
The Zia Foundation’s event represents a continued effort to uplift and support communities across Jammu and Kashmir, addressing crucial social issues through educational outreach and empowerment initiatives.
