During the meeting, Additional District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Raj Kumar Thapa, provided a comprehensive briefing on the functioning of different departments in Rajouri. He highlighted various ongoing projects, challenges faced by the departments, and opportunities for improvement in service delivery.

In his address, Surinder Choudhary emphasized the importance of prioritizing the needs of the general public. He directed all district offices to process files and requests from citizens on a priority basis, ensuring that public grievances were addressed promptly and efficiently. “Our commitment is towards ensuring the complete welfare of the people. Every file that impacts the lives of our citizens must be handled with urgency,” he stated.

The Dy CM also reiterated the government’s stance on maintaining integrity and accountability within public service. He announced a zero-tolerance policy against corruption and drug-related activities, calling for a collaborative effort from all departments to combat these issues. “We must work together to create a transparent and accountable administrative framework that serves the people without compromise,” he asserted.

Surinder Choudhary directed the officials to conduct gram sabhas (village assemblies) before finalizing any developmental plans. This approach is aimed at ensuring that community voices are heard, and local needs are taken into account in the planning process. “Engagement with the community is vital. We need to ensure that development is aligned with the aspirations of our citizens,” he added.

In addition, the Dy CM assessed the ongoing infrastructure projects and directed the Border Roads Organization (BRO) officials to expedite work on the Beripattan road. Recognizing the significance of robust infrastructure for economic development and connectivity, he stressed the need for timely completion of such projects.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from the Dy CM and district officers to work collaboratively towards enhancing governance, ensuring public welfare, and fostering an environment of transparency and accountability.

ADC Nowshera, ADC Sunderbani, CPO, ACD, Executive Engineers and all district and sectoral officers attended the meeting.
