ITBP flags off frontier level expedition “Mt Karzok Kangri”

Leh: Being the leading flag bearer in mountaineering expeditions ITBP flag off a new frontier level expedition “Mt. Karzok Kangri” on 3rd Oct 2024 at Drona Hall 5th Bn ITBP, Leh.

The flag was handed over by Mukesh Singh (IPS), IG ITBP Headquarters to the expedition leader Satinder Singh Dy. Commandant in the presence of Sri Surinder Khatri DIG North West Frontier Ladakh, Dr. Vikas Pathak, (IPS) DIG Sector Ladakh, other senior officers of North West Frontier, Sector Ladakh and 5th, 16th, 24th BN and 37th BN ITBP.

The curtain raiser evening of Mountaineering adventure planed under the guidance of Clay Khongsai (IPS), IG North West Frontier, and Naresh Shaukand, DIG Srinagar was conducted at Drona Hall with full zeal and enthusiasm to set a new mile stone and to signify the formal commencement of the event.

Playing the pioneering role in the field of Mountaineering, 53 members of the North West Frontier expedition team are going to Summit the peak “Mt. Karzok Kangri” scaling the heights of 6105 Metres in the area of responsibility area of 37th BN ITBP under the supervision of Sri Pardeep Singh Negi Commandant 37th BN. ITBP has a long-standing tradition of fostering the spirit of adventure among all ranks. Proven with destiny and nature of duty the team has been equipped with all mountaineering equipment to excel the 16-day arduous adventure which will terminate on 18th October 2024.

In addition, the ITBP Expedition team will also conduct the cleanliness drive and medical camps during the adventurous journey.
