Srinagar: As the world celebrates World Tourism Day, Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha has extended invitation to the people from across the world to visit Jammu and Kashmir.
LG posted on X: “On World Tourism Day, I invite people from across the world to come and explore the divine beauty, rich cultural heritage and warm hospitality of Jammu Kashmir, the paradise on earth,”.
It may be mentioned here that September 27 is observed as World Tourism Day. Since 1980, the United Nations World Tourism Organization has celebrated World Tourism Day as international observances on September 27. This date was chosen as on that day in 1970, the Statutes of the UNWTO were adopted. The adoption of these Statutes is considered a milestone in global tourism.
The theme of this year’s World Tourism Day was “Tourism and Peace.”
Meanwhile, on the World Tourism Day, Aru village in Pahalgam won the Adventure Tourism Award at the Best Tourism Villages Competition 2024.
