Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Estates Department has earmarked several government bungalows in Srinagar for the Council of Ministers in anticipation of the government formation scheduled to take place next month.

The third phase of assembly will conclude on Oct 01 and the votes would be counted on Oct 08 clearing the way for formation of the new government.

In this backdrop, the Estates Department has conveyed to atleast nine top officers to vacate the ministerial bungalows which earlier were allotted to them.

Sources said that the officers who have been asked to vacate ministerial bungalows include Dheeraj Gupta, IAS – Financial Commissioner (ACS), Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment, Alok Kumar, IRS – Principal Secretary to the Government, Higher Education/School Education/Estates, Chandraker Sharti, IAS – Principal Secretary to the Government, Home Department, S.S. Singh Jamwal, IPS – ADGP, UT of Ladakh, Saurabh Bhagat, IAS – Commissioner/Secretary to Government, Science & Technology Department, Sheetal Nanda, IAS – Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Social Welfare Department, Mandeep Kour, IAS – Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Housing & Urban Development Department, V.K. Birdi, IPS – Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Ajay Kumar Yadav, IPS – IG, Srinagar Sector CRPF.

The Government Order No. 222 EST(KMR) of 2024, was issued by Alok Kumar, IRS, Principal Secretary to the Government, who too is to vacate the ministerial bungalow, sources said.
