Kulgam: Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Mohammed Yousuf Tarigami stated that they will continue working towards the better development of the district. He said that this effort aligns with the legacy of the teachings of Syed Simnani (RA) and promised to uphold that legacy.

He was addressing a large gathering at Laroo bus stand and said that before joining the assembly, his long-standing aim was to witness the flourishing of Kulgam. He considers it a success that the region has developed into a district with hospitals, roads, colleges, and parks. He also sees a promising future for the youth.

“Today, from the sacred place of Hazrat Simnaan (RA), we send a message to the ruling leaders: we want to live in prosperity, free from jails and oppression,” he said. He added that Syed Simnaan (RA) imparted teachings of brotherhood, love, and respect to Kashmir. He also introduced the handicrafts that are now famous worldwide. Syed Simnaan’s message was to ensure people live better lives, advocating for the establishment of schools and educational institutions, not their destruction.

Tarigami said that his mission, until his last breath, will be to protect the legacy of Syed Simnaan. He pledged to uphold the historical significance of the district and to continue advocating for a better life for its people.

“People should not forget the time when they were afraid to vote, when they had to hide their inked fingers. That time should not be forgotten so easily,” he said.

He further added that the people entrusted him with the responsibility to make Kulgam a model for the rest of Kashmir. He promised to continue working for the region’s development and, with the support of the people, to move forward towards progress.
