Srinagar: J&K BJP’s former chief Ravinder Raina Wednesday termed the “fake order” being circulated in his name asking the party cadres to welcome Engineer Rashid as “political propaganda” even as he requested the Election Commission of India (ECI) to register an FIR.

The order, “manipulated” on BJP’s letterhead with Raina’s name and contact on the top left, asked the BJP workers in Kashmir to attend the welcome rally of Abdul Rashid Sheikh, popularly known as Engineer Rashid.

“On the directions of party high command all BJP workers of Kashmir Province are directed to attend the welcome rally of Abdul Rashid Sheikh (Engineer Rashid),” the “fake order” read.

As the order made rounds on Internet, the BJP’s J&K media in-charge issued a rebuttal against it saying, “a fake, edited order has been circulated in the media and falsely attributed to former BJP state president Ravinder Raina by political opponents”.

“The BJP will lodge a formal FIR against those responsible for creating and spreading this fake order,” the party said.

The party further said that its leader Sat Sharma has “replaced Ravinder Raina as the BJP state president, and the viral order is entirely fake.”

Posting the “fake order” on his official X-handle, the former JKNC spokesperson Inam Un Nabi alleged that JKNC and PDP were behind the circulation of the fake order.

“The NC and PDP have sunk to new lows in their desperation to undermine Er Rashid’s growing support. Their latest tactic of spreading malicious falsehoods is a disgrace to political integrity,” he alleged.

He said “these parties are now nothing more than purveyors of deceit. Their actions reveal their deep-seated fear and utter lack of principles.”

“It’s appalling to witness such hypocrisy and moral bankruptcy from so-called leaders,” Nabi, who is now the chief spokesperson for Engineer Rashid-led AIP wrote.
