Srinagar: Police have arrested four drug peddlers in Pulwama and Anantnag and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Friday.
He said in Pulwama, at Arihal, police intercepted a motorcycle (PB03AN-8375) and attested two persons riding it 20.21 grams of heroin-like contraband substance was recovered from their possession. They have been identified as Bashir Ahmad Khan, son of Gull Mohammad Khan, resident of Matipora Kulgam, and Irshad Ahmad Khan, son of Bashir Ahmad Khan, resident of Shalipora Kulgam.
In Anantnag, at Pehroo Curve, two persons travelling in vehicle (DL7CJ-8332) were arrested after 19 kilograms of poppy straw was recovered from the vehicle. They have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Rehman Mir, and Tariq Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Hassan, both residents of Mir Check Mattan.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations in both these instances for investigation, police said.
