Srinagar: Maximum temperature plummeted across Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday with most places recording below normal temperature as rains lashed parts of the Union Territory.
As per the details, Gulmarg received the highest precipitation of 21.8 mm rainfall till Thursday evening followed by Kupwara where 12.4 mm rainfall was recorded during the period.
Pahalgam also received heavy rainfall of 10.1 mm during the period while Srinagar recorded 5.0 mm till 05:30 PM.
In Jammu division, Katra recorded a rainfall of 14.2 mm and Jammu station recorded 12.2 mm during the period.
Director Meteorological (MeT) department, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad said there is possibility of rains and thundershowers at scattered places tomorrow while on August 31, to September 1, the weather would remain generally dry with brief spell of rain and thundershower at isolated places.
On September 2 & 3, the weather would remain generally cloudy with the possibility of spells of light to moderate rain and thundershower showers at many places.
He added that from September 4 to 7, the weather would remain generally dry.
In its advisory, the MeT has also predicted the possibility of flash floods, landslides, mudslides and shooting stones over few vulnerable places. (With inputs from KNO)
