DEO Anantnag reviews preparedness for Assembly Elections

ANANTNAG: District Election Officer (DEO) Anantnag, SF Hamid today chaired a meeting at the Meeting Hall of DC Office Complex, here to review the preparedness for Assembly Elections in the District.

At the outset, the DEO held a detailed discussion with the Nodal Officers to assess the important aspects of the Election process mainly aimed at ensuring free, fair, smooth and transparent Elections in all seven Assembly Constituencies of Anantnag District.

The DEO took a first-hand appraisal of the preparedness regarding various crucial aspects and activities for Assembly Elections including assessment of logistical requirements, manpower management plan, transportation of poll staff, Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), training management, expenditure monitoring, SVEEP activities, Flying Squad Teams, Static Surveillance Teams, Media Certification and Monitoring Committees, Model Code of Conduct adherence, functioning of Control Room, Voter registration, status of polling station were also discussed, besides the measures out in place by police to ensure a clean and incident free election.

He directed the Nodal Officers to take all required measures to ensure that every necessary facility is made available at polling locations/ stations, distribution/collections centres. He also stressed them to gear up the all available men and machinery on ground to ensure an effective and meticulous election management plan.

The DEO directed to undertake a visit to Polling Stations and Distribution, Collection Centres to ensure all requisite arrangements are put in place in adherence to the guidelines of ECI.

The meeting was attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Deputy District Election Officer (Dy-DEO), Election Nodal officers and other concerned officials.
