Srinagar: Police Friday said that it arrested two persons who had allegedly beaten an individual with a cricket bat in Madankha area of Nowgam.

Police said that the investigation into the matter is one and that two accused have been arrested, while the efforts are on to arrest other accused.

“Police have taken cognizance of an incident resulting in grievous injuries to one individual upon being beaten by a cricket bat in Madankha, Nowgam. FIR No. 74/2024 u/s 191(2), 191(3), 126(2), 131, 109 BNS stands registered in PS Nowgam,” Srinagar police wrote on its official X-handle.

Police said that the victim is alive and is presently undergoing treatment at the SMHS Hospital.
