SKIMS hospital administration is on high alert, having implemented various precautionary measures to handle any potential cases. An isolation facility with an initial bed capacity of six has been established, with the capability to expand to 30 beds if necessary. The hospital has also enhanced its testing capacity and devised treatment protocols in line with recommended guidelines. A dedicated Control Room has been set up for M-pox management, which also functions as a helpline center, reachable at 0194-2403679.

In addition, SKIMS has prepared guidelines for healthcare workers to manage screening and infection control, particularly at airports and railway stations. The hospital has ensured the availability of sufficient stocks of PPE kits, N95 masks, surgical gloves, and other protective gear to safeguard its staff.

SKIMS plans to issue a detailed public advisory soon and will launch awareness campaigns across social media and other platforms to educate the public about the disease and preventive measures.
