Srinagar: Police have arrested four drug peddlers in Sopore and Pulwama and recovered contraband/psychotropic substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Tuesday.
He said two persons — Waseem Nabi Wani, son of Ghulam Nabi Wani, and Tafazul Islam, son of Naseer Ahmad Parray, both residents of Model Town Sopore – were arrested near Samadabad Crossing, Shalimar Colony Sopore, after 209 capsules of SpasmoProxyvon Plus were recovered from their possession.
At Gangoo Pulwama, a truck (PB08EQ-8089) driven by Sukhdev Singh, son of Surat Singh of Punjab, was intercepted and two bags of poppy straw were recovered from it. On the disclosure of the arrested trucker, one Mohammad Yousuf Gadda, son of Mohammad Shaban Gadda of Gangoo was arrested alongwith a bag of poppy straw.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations for further investigations in both these instances.
