Srinagar: Police in Pulwama have arrested three persons for their alleged involvement in the theft and recovered stolen property from their procession, a police spokesperson informed Tuesday.
In a statement, he said acting on a complaint of one Irshad Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar of Lajoora Pulwama regarding theft of a water pump from an under-construction building at Dangerpora Pulwama, police rounded up three suspects — Sheraj Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Nabi Bhat of Keller; Mehrooz Mushtaq, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, and Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir, son of Mohammad Qasim Mir, both residents of Dangerpora.
After sustained questioning, the suspected persons confessed their involvement in theft and on their disclosure the stolen water pump was also recovered, police said.
They have been arrested and shifted to a police station where they remain in custody, while further investigation into the case is on, the spokesperson said.
