Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Senior Leader and Member of Parliament representing the Anantnag-Rajouri constituency, Mian Altaf Ahmad Larvi today denounced the Waqf Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha, saying the bill is aimed to disempower the Muslim community across the country.

As the government proposed the introduction of the Waqf Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha, MP Mian Altaf Ahmad said that our nation is renowned worldwide for its secularism and democratic principles. However, he vehemently argued that the introduction of such a bill would not only tarnish the country’s image but also instill apprehensions among the Muslim community across the country.
