Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Kulgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Thursday.
He said at village Khudwani, police intercepted and later arrested two persons — Zahid Mohiuddin Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Bhat of Gufbal, and Talib Gull, son of Gull Mohd Shah of Qaimoh — after six grams of brown sugar and one Kg of poppy straw-like contraband substances were recovered from their possession.
At Cheyan, Adigam one Naseer Ahmad Shan, son of Mohammad Hussain Shan of Kilam was arrested after one kg of grinded cannabis and 600 grams of poppy straw was recovered from him.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations for further investigations, police said.
