My Aching Soul
It wasn’t nightfall yet
The last cuckoo had cried herself hoarse
As the mango laden tree groaned under his own weight
The flaming orange in the sky was dimming to a shy peach blush
I heard you call my name from behind the curtain of death
I drowned in the darkening horizons without a whimper
Hoping to cross the turbulent ocean of endless lives
Just to feel your being on my aching soul
An Unsung Bloom
I’m spread out in lush lilac glory
Wild as a far fetched wish
Abundant like a benevolent donor’s largesse
Lolling lazily on the dense green bed
Of bouncy grass and prancing breeze
I’m an unknown bloom in the undergrowth
Do you even know my name ?
Budding Leaves
When every budding maple leaf is a flower
It’s the time for a torrential April shower
When every heart is like a wounded soldier
It’s the perfect season to go and woo her
When every tear drop is the reflection of a rainbow
It’s the turquoise that makes the sky glow
CLOCKS
Though they don’t stop for anyone
Clocks make me halt in wondrous awe
They have a dignified demeanor
Belying their crafty race towards death
Their sombre dials and silvery needles
Never let you realize how fast they can run
The more ancient they seem the more louder they tick
Each faded facade giving a peek into their scheming antiquity
This one couldn’t blend in the evergreens
Its royal posture rigid with mysterious secrets
I watched the teal sky hover in blue expansiveness
While I bowed my head in humble servitude to the power of Time
A Gurgling Rivulet
Love is a gurgling rivulet
It smiles through the mesh of dead branches
Oblivious of the freezing winter blasts
Reflecting sunbeams on its gushing gold
It weathers all the meandering paths
Of a life lived in hibernation
In the craggy peaks of icy indifference
Love makes a dent in stubborn boulders
It knows not how to stop
