Srinagar: A young girl jumped into river Jhelum in Habba Kadal area of Srinagar district on Wednesday.
An official told said that an 18-year-old girl jumped into the river at Habba Kadal.
He said that soon after the incident locals along with police and SDRF started a rescue operation. He said that efforts are on to retrieve the girl.
The reason behind her taking this extreme step wasn’t immediately known, he said.
Police have taken cognizance and started an investigation. (KS)
