My Youth My Pride sports activities wrap up for July in north Kashmir

SRINAGAR: The “My Youth My Pride” special sports activities for July concluded with impressive performances across various sports in North Kashmir.

In District Baramulla, the Sports Stadium buzzed with Hockey, Kabaddi, and Volleyball events, featuring 300 participants.

In Bandipora, a boxing competition at GHSS Shadipora saw over 70 athletes compete, with merit certificates awarded to the top performers. Rugby and Football competitions at SK Stadium and Playfield Naidkhai drew hundreds of players from various schools and JKSC training centers, all vying for top honors.

Kupwara hosted special activities in Wushu, Judo, and Kho-Kho at the Indoor Sports Hall in Handwara and Playfield Kultari Mawar, where students from across the district participated in the final events.

Meanwhile, the 1st Kashmir Hockey League Tournament, organized by Badal Hockey Club in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, was inaugurated here at Synthetic Hockey Turf, Polo Ground Srinagar by DGP J&K, R R Swain, along with IGP Kashmir, V.K Birdi, and JKSC Secretary, Nuzhat Gull, as guests of honour. This landmark event first of its kind, part of the “My Youth My Pride” initiative, will see 8 teams competing in 16 matches over 8 days.
