Commissioner SMC reviews preparedness for Independence Day-2024 celebrations

SRINAGAR: The Commissioner SMC, Dr. Owais Ahmed, Saturday chaired a high level review meeting at the Central Office, SMC, to assess the preparedness for the upcoming Independence Day Celebrations 2024.

The meeting was attended by the senior officers from SMC, SDA and SSCL.

During the meeting, Dr. Owais urged all officials to ramp up their efforts and actively engage in the Independence Day celebrations with outstanding zeal and fervor. He stressed the importance of coordinated teamwork to ensure that the celebrations are a resounding success, promoting the values of unity and patriotism.

During the course of the meeting, a detailed action plan was discussed for upcoming Independence Day Celebrations.

Commissioner pressed all wings into service viz., illumination of City including SMC Headquarters, installation of MTVs and Water Points at designated locations, Drainage Wing has been put on alert for any weather related eventuality. Moreover, particularly the Sanitation Wing has been directed to ensure cleanliness and hygiene throughout the city for this auspicious occasion.

The Commissioner’s directive signifies a strong commitment to uphold the spirit of independence and National pride. As the Nation approaches this significant day, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation is dedicated to orchestrate a memorable celebration that resonates with the people of Srinagar and beyond.
