SKIMS Medical College Bemina organizes health camp under family adoption prog

Ajas, Bandipora: The Department of Community Medicine at SKIMS Medical College & Hospital, Bemina, organized a comprehensive medical health camp in Ajas, District Bandipora, under the Family Adoption Programme.

The camp featured multispecialty consultants from the departments of general medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, and endocrinology, who provided valuable consultations to the beneficiaries. Initial screenings included blood pressure measurement, BMI, waist-hip ratio, assessment of wasting and stunting in children, and tests for hemoglobin and random blood sugar levels. Around 250 beneficiaries received these health services.

The faculty of the Department of Community Medicine counseled villagers on safe drinking water, food hygiene, and basic sanitation. Second-year MBBS students showed empathy and actively mobilized their adopted family members to attend the camp. Essential drugs were distributed to those in need.

Senior residents, postgraduate students, and medical interns from the Department of Community Medicine and other departments actively participated in the camp. The District Administration Bandipora, CMO Bandipora, and BMO Hajin provided crucial support for the camp activities. Additionally, the medical officer of Ayush dispensary Ajas, health staff of PHC Ajas, and SHO Ajas contributed to ensuring the camp ran smoothly.
