JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, who is also the Chairman Executive Council of Mubarak Mandi Jammu Heritage Society (MMJHS), today chaired its Executive Council meeting.
Commissioner JMC, Executive Director MMJHS, Director Archives, Joint Director Tourism, SE PWD and concerned officers were present.
The meeting discussed different issues and agenda points pertaining to the projects under execution for the renovation and preservation of Mubarak Mandi and developing it as a major tourist attraction of Jammu.
During the meeting, it was informed that many of the projects like the Conservation and Adaptive reuse of Ram Singh’s Queens Palace, Conservation of Darbar Hall, and Conservation of Dogra Museum are 75% completed.
The Divisional Commissioner directed for speeding up the pace of remaining works being executed under JKIDFC.
The participants also deliberated on the possibility of the construction of a parking facility for visitors/Tourists of Mubarak Mandi and the general public.
The Div Com directed the concerned officials to operationalise the Café in Mubarak Mandi to attract and facilitate visitors.
The Div Com further directed for constitution of a committee for identifying the activities and projects that can be taken up in the Mubarak Mandi complex under CSR.
Discussion was also held on appointing an expert agency for the execution of works, strengthening of hill slope along the circular road adjacent to the Mubarak Mandi Heritage complex.
