Biker dies in hit-and-run accident at Kanispora

Baramulla: In a tragic accident on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway, a biker lost his life after being struck by an unidentified Bolero vehicle.

The deceased has been identified as Showkat Ahmad Mir, son of Javid Ahmad Mir, a resident of Jagir Hail Kreeri. The incident occurred when Mir, riding a bike bearing the registration number JK04B 7683, was hit by the vehicle at Kanispora.

Police officials are currently reviewing CCTV footage in an effort to identify the Bolero vehicle involved in this hit-and-run case. The authorities have appealed to the public for any information that could assist in tracking down the vehicle and the driver responsible for this tragic accident.

In a separate incident, an 18-year-old boy lost his life at Namblan Waterfall. Moin Ahmad Lone, son of Ghulam Hassan Lone from Heevan Sheeri, drowned while taking a bath. Despite immediate rescue efforts, the young boy could not be saved. The local community has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of such a young life in these tragic circumstances.

The police have urged the public to exercise caution near water bodies and highways to prevent such heartbreaking incidents in the future.
