Furthermore, students from Nepal and Bhutan have also received help in crossing into India upon request, according to a Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) press release.

In response to recent events in Bangladesh, the High Commission of India in Dhaka, and the Assistant High Commissions in Chittagong, Rajshahi, Sylhet, and Khulna, have been facilitating the return of Indian nationals.

These efforts are coordinated with local authorities to ensure safe travel to the border crossing points along the India-Bangladesh International Border. The MEA is also working closely with civil aviation, immigration, land ports, and BSF authorities to ensure a smooth passage for citizens, officials stated.

Regular communication with Bangladesh authorities is maintained by the High Commission and Assistant High Commissions to ensure the safety and security of Indian nationals and students.

Where necessary, security escorts have been arranged for road travel during repatriation through specific land ports. Additionally, the High Commission in Dhaka is coordinating with Bangladesh civil aviation authorities and commercial airlines to ensure uninterrupted flight services to India from Dhaka and Chittagong, which Indian nationals can use to return home.

For assistance, Indian nationals can contact the High Commission of India in Dhaka and the Assistant High Commissions of India in Bangladesh through the emergency numbers listed below:
