SRINAGAR: CPI(M) leader Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami has expressed serious concern over the “administrative apathy by PMGSY and other departments who have failed to compensate the land owners whose lands have been procured for different purposes”.
In a statement issued here, Tarigami said: “The land owners who are normally the marginalised farmers are aghast over the tarry approach adopted by the concerned departments since 2019, mostly adhere to glibbery behaviour, which has created a wave of consternation among the common masses. He demanded immediate compensation for the people whose lands had been taken away by PMGSY and other departments.”
He said that people in J&K have a long history of struggles against feudal. The officers should not pose bigger than the general public. “They are expected to be the custodians of the public interest, as such they must do more to serve the public and use their capacities to mitigate the sufferings of the common people.”
