Srinagar: Police in Baramulla have apprehended three individuals involved in cheating innocent residents, a police spokesperson informed Saturday.
He said preliminary investigation revealed that the gang’s modus operandi involved cheating people under the pretext of selling and purchasing vehicles and promising jobs in reputable institutions like banks and government departments.
A case vide FIR No. 100/24 U/s 318(4) BNS was registered at Police Station Kreeri. Subsequently, three accused persons identified as Mudasir Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir, resident of Thindma; Firdosue Ahmad Mir alias Sameer Khan, son of Abdul Aziz, resident of Mughalpora Tangmarg, currently residing in Chanpora, Srinagar; and Syed Akther, son of Abdul Rasheed, resident of Sonlipora Tangmarg, have been arrested.
Further investigation is underway. More arrests are expected as the probe progresses and more evidence is gathered, police said.
