Tourist found dead in Srinagar

Srinagar: A non-local woman was found dead under suspicious conditions in Qamarwari area of Srinagar on Friday.

An official said that a non-local woman died under suspicious circumstances in a rented room at Bilal Colony, Qamarwari. He said investigations to determine the cause of her death have been taken up, news agency Kashmir Scroll reported.

It said an unknown male dead body was also recovered from Jhelum river near Cement bridge in Noorbagh area.

An official said that locals spotted a body and informed the police, which took over the body and initiated proceedings to identify it besides ascertaining the cause of death, Kashmir scroll reported.
