Anurag Goyal launches Sampoornata Abhiyan in Kupwara

KUPWARA: Senior Advisor NITI Aayog, Anurag Goyal, today visited the border district Kupwara in connection with the launch of Sampoornata Abhiyan in Aspirational District Kupwara and Aspirational Block Keran.

On the occasion, the Senior Advisor formally launched the Sampoornata Abhiyan in a ceremony held at Town Hall Kupwara in the presence of District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan; DDC Member Drugmulla, Amina Majeed, CPO Kupwara, Parvaiz Ahmad, District Officers and field functionaries.

Speaking at the occasion, the Senior Advisor said that after the successful implementation of the Aspirational District Programme (ADP) across the country, the Aspirational Block Programme (ABP) has been launched by the NITI Aayog with an aim to saturate the aspirational indicators further at the block level. He added that 5 Aspirational blocks from J&K UT are figuring among the top 100 blocks of the country which indicates the better performance shown by the departments here.

Anurag Goyal said that all the government departments should work in coordination and urged upon the concerned officers to extend their cooperation in cent percent saturation of indicators in the Aspirational District Programme and AB Programme.

In her welcome address, the District Development Commissioner said that the district Kupwara has registered better progress under the Aspirational District Programme since its launch.

She added that the district scored 59.10 under ADP in January this year which was 37.8 earlier when the programme was launched 5 years ago.

She said tourism, health and self-employment sectors have got boosted in the district adding that the Operation Theatre at Sub District Hospital Kralpora was also operationalized recently under the ADP funding.

She also highlighted various schemes which has shown the best progress under ADP in the district which include PMJJBY, PMSBY, PMJAY- Sehat Scheme, besides, the district has also witnessed boost in Power Supply, JJM and Nutrition.

Meanwhile, various departmental beneficiaries of Health, Agriculture and ICDS spoke and highlighted the benefits they got under the AD Programme.

Pledge under Sampoornata Abhiyan was also taken by the participants.

On his arrival, the Senior Advisor inspected different stalls installed at Town Hall by several departments including Agriculture, Health, ICDS, Employment and J&K Bank and got feedback from the concerned district officers about progress of the schemes.
