Anantnag fire incident: Mian Altaf seeks sufficient relief, compensation to affected families

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Member of Parliament from Anantnag-Rajouri Mian Altaf Ahmad today expressed sorrow over the tragic fire incident that resulted in the destruction of ten residential houses and eight shops in South Kashmir’s Anantnag town.

Mian Altaf urged the administration to provide timely and sufficient relief and compensation to the families affected by the devastating fire. The Member Parliament also showed solidarity with those impacted by the fire.

Meanwhile Provincial Vice president Dr Bashir Veeri, District President Anantnag Altaf Ahmad Wani, party leaders Ab Majeed Larmi, Peer Mohammad Hussain and other district functionaries have also expressed profound sympathies with the victim families and implored upon the district and divisional administration to get a detailed appraisal from the revenue officials about the quantum of material losses in the unfortunate incident.

“Revenue teams should rush to the spot and assess the quantum of losses so that the quantum of compensation is also chalked out and distributed forthwith,” they said.
