While physical health can be examined quite easily and people often wish each other for wellness, mental health remains a thing of imagination- the understanding of which doesn’t go too well with us. Mental health is when you are emotionally, physiologically and socially fit and it not only includes external and physical appearance but the conditions of one’s mind and feelings. It is how you think, feel and behave.

We all acknowledge that we live in stressful times and there are more challenges to each one of us than ever before. We also know that various developments including the bombardment of multimedia content and the unending competition for jobs etc has taken a toll on our mental health. Yet we fail to acknowledge the need to address mental health issues and instead we either brush them aside or simply label them and get away from our responsibilities. We as a society have to grow up and try to understand the need for accessing mental health scenario in order to work for a better tomorrow. Our young and old, men and women and even young children are faced with challenging scenarios and therefore end up piling a lot of stress. This needs to be sorted out before it is too late.

Mental health is as important as physical health. If we have the need of tongue to talk, we equally have the need of smooth functioning of our mind. It is important at every phase of our life from being a child to a teenager as well as to growing as an adult. Issues relating to future, financial stability, our appearance and many more things add to the anxieties and cause overthinking after which people often experience bouts of depression or even permanent depression. It is really very important to think about this topic.

A person must be spiritually stable too as it has been proven that spirituality helps in overcoming depression. One has to unfold the strengths of different sorts in order to fight the extraordinary circumstantial realities of modern day life. There is no doubt about the fact that various methods can be put in place to overcome mental health issues and there has been ample amount of research in this regard. Counseling sessions, open discussions, sharing of concerns, decongesting mental fog and above all supportive atmosphere- be it family, friends, peers groups or teachers as well as administrations, is an important aspect to be explore.
