Secretary RDD reviews arrangements for SANJY at Baltal

Exhorts officers to ensure quality services to pilgrims

GANDERBAL: Secretary Rural Development Department (RDD), Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, conducted a comprehensive review of facilities being extended to pilgrims during the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) at Baltal.

During the visit, the secretary emphasized that the officers of all concerned departments should ensure that the pilgrims get quality services in a totally hassle-free manner.

In a meeting with the officers, the Secretary assessed the current status of facilities, including accommodation, medical services, sanitation and security.

Acknowledging the efforts made so far, the Secretary urged upon all departments to work in close coordination to address any gaps on this account. He said our prime concern should be to ensure a smooth pilgrimage experience for the pilgrims thronging the UT from various parts of the country and abroad well.

“The success of SANJY-2024 hinges on our ability to provide a safe, comfortable and spiritually fulfilling journey for every yatri,” maintaining the Secretary.

Interacting with the officers, the Secretary said that our commitment should be unwavering in making sure all necessary arrangements are in place and any issues are promptly resolved.

The Secretary directed for regular monitoring and maintenance of sanitation facilities to ensure cleanliness and hygiene. He also emphasised the importance of enhanced communication and coordination among all stakeholders for grand success of this religious annual pilgrimage.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir, ADDC Ganderbal, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, Camp Director Baltal, SSP Yatra Baltal Axis, SDM Kangan, ACD and other district officers.
