2 persons held for burglary in Budgam

Srinagar:  Police in Budgam have solved a burglary case and have arrested two accused persons, and recovered stolen property from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Tuesday.

Investigating a case of theft at a home in LD Colony Sanat Nagar, police picked up one Ruby Begum, wife of Ghulam Hassan Khan of Gogipora Kanihama Nowgam, who during questioning confessed her involvement in the theft leading to the partial recovery of the stolen gold items.

During further investigation, Ruby Begum disclosed that she had sold some of the stolen jewellery to a goldsmith named Parvaiz Ahmad Bhat, son of Late Ghulam Nabi Bhat, resident of Tailbal Road Rashi Mohalla Shalimar, Srinagar.

Both the accused persons were arrested and stolen gold ornaments valued at approximately Rs 4 lakh were recovered from their possession, police said.
