Burhan Hussain delivers talk at NCC Camp, JAK LI RC Campus

SRINAGAR: To give the NCC Cadets a clear picture of the infrastructure and social development steps taken by the UT Government, and its impact on the UT and integration with the nation, a talk was delivered by Burhan Hussain, Cultural Officer Kashmir holding additional charge of Assistant Director Advt. and District Information Officer Anantnag (Department of Information and Public Relations J&K) at the NCC Camp, JAK LI Regimental Centre (RC) Campus in Rangreth.

The theme of the programme named ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat National Integration Camp’ was ‘J&K towards Peace, Progress and Posterity- Infrastructure and Social Development steps taken by J&K and its impact on UT and Integration with the Nation’ organized by DGNCC.

The lecture was attended by 250 NCC Cadets and 20 ANO/ Staff from all the 17 Directorates of NCC.

During the Camp, the Cultural Officer Kashmir through a PowerPoint presentation elaborated on the works carried out by the Government of India (GoI) and the UT Administration to upgrade the infrastructure in the UT. He said during the year 2022-23, 92560 projects were completed which is double the number of work projects completed in previous years.

These include the engineering marvels of Chenab Bridge, the 8.45km twin tube Qazigund-Banihal Tunnel, other tunnel projects, PMGSY roads, the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link Project, etc while others are in the pipeline.

Through water infrastructure, realizing the dream of water to every home through the Jal Jeevan Mission was also highlighted. Besides, better flood management through major flood protection projects and Energy infrastructure by improving power generation with additional capacity of 3050MW by 2025-26.

In the Social sector, It was highlighted that the government is living up to its slogan of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas for inclusive growth by improving the well-being and overall quality of life for people through education, healthcare, youth skill development, poverty reduction and social cohesion. He said ‘Mission Youth-My J&K’, a signature programme of J&K Govt is one such initiative that has addressed the concerns of youth be it skill enhancement, livelihood generation or others.

This Special Camp is one of the six EBSB SNIC Camps, organized every year by DGNCC at different locations, for selected cadets from all the 17 NCC Directorates to give them an opportunity to experience the rich and varied cultural traditions and heritage of different states of the country and foster national integration.

The participating cadets from each state/UT will be the ambassadors of the UT and when they return to their respective home states, they will share their views of the stable security situation and all-round development and progress made by the UT.
