NIT Srinagar celebrates 10th International Yoga Day

Srinagar: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar on Friday celebrated the 10th International Day of Yoga with great enthusiasm on the campus.

Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. A Ravinder Nath, attended the Yoga session led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) on the banks of Dal Lake in Srinagar.

In his message, Director NIT Srinagar said that yoga is a vital practice for enhancing physical health, mental clarity, and emotional stability. He emphasized the importance of integrating yoga into daily routines to promote overall well-being and reduce stress.

Prof. A Ravinder Nath also encouraged everyone to embrace yoga as a lifelong practice to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff, who performed various yoga asanas with zeal and zest at Common Hall from 7.30 am to 8:30 AM.

The session was held under the supervision of Registrar NIT Srinagar, Prof. Atikur Rehman, Dean of Planning & Development Dr. Yashwant Mehta and other dignitaries.
