Transport Commissioner reviews transport services in Anantnag district

ANANTNAG: Transport Commissioner, Rajinder Singh Tara, visited Anantnag to review the efficiency of transport services in the district.

During the visit, the Transport Commissioner scrutinized the implementation of various online services offered by the department, emphasizing the importance of timely service delivery to ensure smooth and effective operations for the general public.

The Transport Commissioner also conducted a site inspection for the proposed Office cum Driving Skill Test and Fitness Inspection Centre at Zudder Vessu here. This initiative is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to develop state-of-the-art infrastructure to better serve the public.

He also inspected the existing Driving Skill Test cum Fitness Inspection ground near Railway Station Harnag providing specific instructions to the Motor Vehicle Inspectors to enhance the facility’s operations and service quality.

Later, the Commissioner held a meeting with transport associations from the Anantnag district, during which he was apprised of various issues affecting the transport sector. He assured the representatives that their genuine demands would be addressed promptly, reinforcing the department’s commitment to supporting the transport community.

The Transport Commissioner also engaged with the staff members of the ARTO office Anantnag, reviewing their work assignments and directing them to resolve any pending tasks swiftly. He emphasized the importance of addressing public grievances in a timely manner.

Highlighting on road safety, the Commissioner reviewed the Integrated Road Accident Database (IRAD) and instructed the office to analyse accident causes meticulously. He urged the development of comprehensive plans to minimize road accidents and save lives.

Additional Transport Commissioner, Aijaz Abdullah Saraf; ARTO Pulwama, Basharat Mehmood; ARTO Anantnag, Dr. Showkat Ahmad Bhat and other officers of the department also accompanied him during the visit.
