DC Kupwara reviews arrangements for celebration of Int’l Yoga Day

KUPWARA: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the arrangements for the celebration of International Yoga Day in the district falling on June 21st.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of Yoga Day celebrations and directed officers to work in close coordination to make the event a grand success in the district. She stressed upon the officers to plan all the activities in a synchronized fashion to ensure smooth conduct of the Yoga Day and Youth Engagement event in the district.

A threadbare discussion was held in the meeting during which various arrangements including participation of youth, trainers and people, live streaming of the main event, screening of the central event and other relevant things were reviewed in detail.

It was given out in the meeting that the main Yoga event will be held at Government Degree College Kupwara on 21st June in which more than one thousand people are expected to participate in Yoga activities. It was also given out that Yoga events will also be organized in all Government Degree Colleges, Schools, besides at District headquarter Kupwara.

Arrangements for the youth engagement programme on 20th June was also reviewed during the meeting.

Meanwhile, ADDC Kupwara and ACR Kupwara were designated as Nodal Officers for Main Yoga Day and Youth Engagement day events respectively.

Principals of GDCs, District Ayush Officer Kupwara, CMO, Dy. CEO, besides, Officers from Youth Services & Sports and other concerned attended the meeting.
