The meeting was attended by the Joint Commissioner, Joint Commissioner (Works), ADP Planning, all Executive Engineers, and officials from line departments.

It was revealed that out of the 22 identified projects under AMRUT 2.0, 12 Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) have been approved, with the remaining 10 DPRs expected to be submitted within the set timeframe.

Following a thorough deliberation, the Commissioner emphasized the need to expedite the formulation of the pending DPRs and to promptly initiate the tendering process for the approved projects. This strategic approach aims to enhance the existing water supply infrastructure, thereby providing much-needed relief to areas in Srinagar currently facing water scarcity.

The Commissioner particularly underscored the urgency of installing smart meters to ensure an uninterrupted 24×7 water supply to the residents of Srinagar.

The Commissioner’s directive reflects the administration’s strong commitment to improving the water supply services in Srinagar and addressing the pressing water-related challenges faced by the city.

The swift implementation of these projects is expected to significantly bolster Srinagar’s water supply infrastructure, ensuring better service delivery to its residents.
