District Development Council (DDC) Chairman, Bharat Bhushan, Vice Chairman, Suraj Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya and other district officers attended the public outreach programme.

The primary concerns raised by the public, during the camp, inter alia included the upgradation of educational facilities, improvement of power supply infrastructure, rejuvenation of water resources and enhancement of healthcare facilities with increased staff strength.

ACS highlighted the significance of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in revolutionizing the water supply scenario, saying that it aims to ensure every household in Jammu & Kashmir receives 55 litres of clear, potable drinking water per capita per day. He emphasised the role of community involvement through Pani Samitis in maintaining the quality of the water supply. He addressed issues regarding the safety and efficiency of HDPE pipes in the area while issuing necessary directions to the concerned officials on this account.

Responding to public issues, Shaleen Kabra acknowledged the need for a functional trauma centre in the area and asked the officers to initiate action in this regard. He directed the health department to conduct regular health checkups in the area besides asking them to further streamline their working culture to serve the best patient care. He advocated for cluster-based rationalisation of teaching and medical staff to maximise service delivery.

Stressing the importance of effective grievance redressal mechanisms, Shaleen Kabra assured that platforms like the public darbar have been designed to bridge gaps between the public and the administration. He educated the attendees about the Public Service Guarantee Act (PSGA) and its feature of auto appeal, which holds concerned officers accountable for service delivery besides elaborating on various government initiatives tailored for the welfare and development of common masses.

DDC Chairman highlighted the importance of JJM and endorsed public demands for upgrading high schools and establishing a degree college.

Vice Chairman, Suraj Singh, noted the substantial development in recent years and encouraged public participation in voicing genuine demands.

Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, informed that several issues raised in the previous Public Darbar have been addressed or are in various stages of resolution. He emphasised the importance of quality management in projects and highlighted ongoing efforts to rationalise health and medical staff for enhanced service delivery.
