Srinagar:  Police in Srinagar have solved a case of theft by arresting an accused woman, and recovered stolen cash from her possession, a police spokesperson informed Saturday.

He said Police Station Sadder received a complaint from one Parvaiz Ahmad Wani, son of Late Abdul Khaliq Wani of Chinar Colony Baghat Srinagar about theft of cash in his home.

Investigating the matter, with the help of technical evidence, police zeroed in on one Nusrat Nisar, wife of Nisar Ahmad Kuchay of Barsoo Awantipora, and arrested her.

On her disclosure, a stolen amount of Rs 23,46,000 was recovered from her house in Barsoo Awantipora, police said, adding that further investigation is going on.
