According to the available data, Pandit migrant voters of Jammu voted in favour of Peoples Conference’s candidate Sajad Gani Lone on Baramulla seat and J&K Apni Party’s candidates for Srinagar and Anantnag-Rajouri seats, Muhammad Ashraf Mir and Zafar Iqbal Manhas respectively.

During the campaigning, Pandit migrants had said that no candidate from either National Conference or Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had visited them to listen to their problems and seek their votes. They had said that Apni Party president Muhammad Altaf Bukhari had on regular intervals visited Jammu and met several delegations of Pandit community and even talked about their issues related to their land and houses at their native places in the valley.

Some of them were of the opinion that both NC and PDP have been tested in the past but it yielded no results. They had said that BJP has been doing good work for the welfare of the community and they have voted for the parties which were being supported by the saffron party. (With inputs from KNO)
